Do you have broadband internet service at home?

Are you able to get broadband internet service at home? Some parts of Schuylkill County are able to get really fast internet speeds at home, and others cannot. The FCC wants to hear from those who are not able to get speeds above 25 Mbps download. There is a “National Broadband Map” (top right corner of the screen when you click the link below) where you can check your address and see if the map agrees with your experience. For instance, if a company claims to serve your street with high speed internet but you haven’t been able to get them to connect your house with their service, your experience disagrees with the map. Find out more at the BDC Help Center at https://help.bdc.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/sections/10467243210651-Consumers-Individuals where you can challenge the availability of high speed internet at your address.

Challenges to the map can include:

  • A location that meets the FCC’s definition of a broadband serviceable location is missing from the map.
  • A location’s broadband serviceability is incorrectly identified.
  • Information such as the address or unit count for the location is incorrect.
  • The location’s placement (its geographic coordinates) is incorrect.

Pennsylvanians should challenge the map to help improve its accuracy by January 13, 2023.
