Saturday, May 3rd at the Pottsville Free Public Library is jam-packed with things going on for people of every age.
The Friends of the Pottsville Library will be holding a Used Book Sale in the Library basement from 11 AM – 3 PM. Kids books, cook books, beach reads, history, and coffee table books are just some of the choices you will have! This is a great time to stock up on books for long trips or family vacations this summer. And if you miss Saturday’s sale, the regular First Monday Used Book Sale will be taking place on Monday, May 5th from 12-2 PM.
Vendors will fill the first and second floor of the Library for the May Day Metaphysical Market from 11 AM – 3 PM. Browse through the displays of candles, crystals, soap, jewelry, crocheted items, and tarot readers to find gifts for Mom or yourself. Food will be available to purchase from E&E Soul Food in the Library.
In the Youth Services Department, comic book readers of all ages will have fun with the Free Comic Book Day comic books and activities from 10 AM – 4 PM. Comic books are a great way for reluctant readers to get interested in something that isn’t a screen, and we’ve selected comic titles for both younger and older readers.
The Pottsville Library is also a partner with Block of Art, which will be holding its annual art festival on May 3rd from 10 AM – 4 PM in the Majestic Theater and Schuylkill County Historical Society. So your entire family can make a day of it in downtown Pottsville! And remember, parking is free on Saturdays so you don’t have to worry about feeding the meters or using the parking app.
